Summary You support the Deputy Chief of Staff/Executive Director, VA Convergence Center, comprised of the Simulation Center, NCCHI, Clinical Informatics team in areas related to office management, business process coordination, data collection, analysis, reporting, and apply specialized principles and practices of healthcare management in clinical innovation and related projects in NCCHI, Simulation Center, Clinical informatics and data science applications. Responsibilities THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION Duties include but may not be limited to: Performs the duties of management and organizational structure of hospitals and healthcare institutions, focusing on the functional alignment of clinical and administrative services; efficiently and effectively to facilitate NCCHI, Simulation Center, and Clinical Informatics in Clinical Innovation and bridging R&D with Innovation for Veteran care and high quality and safety means for Veterans to access healthcare delivery; Performs detailed analyses of complex functions and work processes and present both written and oral recommendations, taking into full consideration the wide range of issues that affect the management of the health care delivery system; Evaluates and interprets study findings, making oral and written reports and presentations, anticipating the impact of recommended changes, and devising innovative solutions to complex or precedent-setting problems; Develops long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and clinical implementation milestones or evaluate the effectiveness of programs conducted throughout an agency or a regional structure of equivalent scope; Directs administrative services (personnel, supply management, budget, facilities management, or similar) which support and directly affect the operation; Prepares and delivers presentations that are well-organized, engaging, and persuasive to VA stakeholders and non-VA stakeholders; Oversees the allocation and use of financial resources to ensure they are used efficiently and effectively to include tracking expenditures, comparing them against the budget, and making adjustments as needed to stay within financial constraints; Performs other related duties assigned to this position, including clear and effective communications with multiple VA entities and non-VA collaborators from multiple health care and tech sectors of industry, government, and other non-VA entities. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicant(s) must meet the following requirement: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires at least one (1) full year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in Federal Service that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the GS-13 Supervisory Health System Specialist, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
