Senior M&A and Private Equity Counsel
New York, NY (Hybrid or In-Office)
Compensation Range: $415,000 – $435,000 (based on experience)
A nationally recognized corporate law practice is seeking an experienced transactional attorney to join its Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity group as Special Counsel . This role is designed for an attorney with a strong foundation in complex deals who is ready to step into a client-facing, senior-level position with growth potential.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
At least 8 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 5 recent years focused on M&A and private equity
Demonstrated ability to lead transactions independently from LOI/term sheet to close
Expertise advising both corporate clients and private equity sponsors across acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, and other strategic transactions
Strong command of corporate law, with practical judgment on when to loop in partners or specialists
A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on client service and business development
Qualifications:
JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
Admitted and in good standing with the New York Bar
Outstanding academic credentials and communication skills
Prior experience at a leading Am Law firm (top 50 preferred)
