Salary Range: $56,475 - $73,396 Position Description: Responsible for providing comprehensive reading instruction and intervention to students, including screening, assessment, and case management, while adhering to company and state regulations. The Reading Specialist will also serve as a coach and mentor to teachers, providing expertise in literacy instruction, particularly for students with disabilities. Educational Requirements: Master’s Degree in Education, Reading, or a related field with a MA Reading Specialist license. Experience Requirements: Teaching Experience: Several years of teaching experience, particularly in literacy or special education. Experience working with students with disabilities. Experience in Coaching or Leadership: Previous experience in a coaching, mentoring, or leadership role within an educational setting is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coaching and Mentoring: Provide coaching and support to teachers in implementing effective literacy instruction tailored to the needs of students with disabilities. Modeling Instruction: Demonstrate effective teaching strategies in the classroom and model best practices for literacy instruction. Professional Development: Lead workshops, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities focused on literacy education and special education practices. Collaborative Planning: Work with teachers to plan and implement literacy instruction that aligns with students' IEP goals. Data-Driven Instruction: Use assessment data to guide instructional decisions and help teachers refine their literacy instruction to better meet the needs of students. Resource Development: Develop or recommend instructional materials and resources that support literacy development for students with special needs.
