Pipe Installer – DesignBuild Mechanical (Charlotte, NC)

Established in 2002, DesignBuild Mechanical, a Crete United company, is a leading commercial HVAC subcontractor in the Southeast. With a strong presence in both the commercial and industrial sectors, our Charlotte, NC team is expanding. We are seeking an experienced Pipe Installer who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is committed to delivering quality craftsmanship in HVAC and mechanical projects.

Position: Pipe Installer

As a Pipe Installer with DesignBuild Mechanical, you will play a critical role in the installation of HVAC piping systems, including natural gas and refrigerant lines, supporting our design-build commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and test natural gas piping systems safely and accurately.
• Perform refrigerant piping installations including fitting, brazing, purging, flaring, and swaging.
• Operate pipe threading machines with efficiency and safety.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and layout drawings.
• Utilize hand tools, lifts, rigging, and material handling equipment as needed on the job site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in natural gas piping and refrigerant pipe installations.
• Proficient with pipe threading equipment and related tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints.
• Capable of using hand tools, forklifts, man lifts, and rigging equipment.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to follow OSHA standards on job sites.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work 10-hour shifts regularly.
• Capable of standing, walking, and climbing stairs throughout the workday.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly, including while using ladders.
• Comfortable working in a range of temperatures, including outdoor environments.
