Job Summary

A leading electrical contractor in Connecticut is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our team. We are looking for a licensed professional with an L or C license who has a passion for quality work and a drive to succeed. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an independent technician to work on a variety of new residential projects across the state, with a focus on fire alarm, security, and data systems. A company vehicle will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot a wide range of low voltage systems, including fire alarms, security systems, home automation, and data/telecom wiring.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to ensure accurate and compliant installations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Conduct thorough system testing to ensure all components are functioning correctly and meet safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, material usage, and progress reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with clients on-site.

Qualifications

  • Active State of Connecticut Low Voltage License (L or C).
  • Proven experience in installing and servicing low voltage systems in residential applications.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and building codes.
  • Must be a self-motivated and highly organized professional.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

     

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with specific manufacturer systems (e.g., [Name a few common brands like Honeywell, ADT, Crestron, etc.]).
  • Experience with new construction and structured wiring.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $28 - $35 per hour, based on experience and licensing.
