Job Description

Sentinel Transportation is hiring a dedicated and safety-conscious Local Fuel Tanker Driver for our Terminal in Richmond, CA. As Local Fuel Tanker Driver, you will play a crucial role in the safe, effective, and efficient transport of fuel products, all while ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and Sentinel Transportation’s safety procedures. Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Safely pick up and drop trailers, and load/unload products as required.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections in line with DOT and Sentinel Transportation procedures.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with DOT and Sentinel standards.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor to optimize vehicle and equipment utilization.
  • Monitor vehicle safety and ensure the functionality of all related equipment.
  • Participate in safety meetings to contribute to a culture of safety. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience Requirements: At least 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience; 6 months of tanker experience preferred.
  • Valid CDL A: Must hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) with a clean driving record.
  • Haz-Mat & Tanker Endorsements: Required to have both Haz-Mat and Tanker Endorsements. A TWIC card may also be required depending on the location.  
  • Ability to work independently and consistently adhere to safety procedures without direct supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with supervisors, team members, and customers.
  • Must successfully pass a DOT physical, drug test, and criminal background check to ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
