Epic Analyst III (This position will involve weekly on-site work in Indianapolis, Indiana) Responsibilities Support the configuration and implementation of Epic Revenue Cycle modules which include Prelude and Cadence, and may include Cheers CRM, Campaigns, Referrals and Authorizations, and Real-time Eligibility. Focus on scheduling, registration, and patient check-in workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clinicians, perform system builds and testing, and provide go-live support for new Epic configurations. Hold Epic certifications or pursue them; demonstrate experience in healthcare operations and strong analytical and communication skills. Lead and facilitate team activities related to IT and clinical/business systems. Responsibilities – Expanded Play a key role in the development, support, and rollout of the Epic EHR system. Configure and customize Epic applications to optimize workflow processes and meet organizational needs. Collaborate with end users, business partners, and Epic project teams to ensure optimal system usage. Participate in all phases of the system development life cycle: requirements gathering, use-case development, and evaluating software solutions. Develop, configure, and maintain moderately complex information systems; create and maintain documentation of business requirements, workflows, and configurations. Design, code/configure, test, and maintain application programs; coordinate all testing phases during implementations, upgrades, and optimizations. Provide hands-on training and support to end users; act as an onsite Epic resource during implementations and ongoing support. Provide second-level support for incidents and requests related to the Epic application; participate in on-call support as needed. Lead and monitor application testing and validation during upgrades or new module implementations. Contribute to policies, procedures, training materials, and best practices related to Epic usage and optimization. Build and maintain strong relationships with end users and facility leadership across departments. Qualifications Strong analytical abilities; ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams. Experience in hospital or clinic operations, especially in patient access, scheduling, or registration workflows. Proficiency in application design, system build, testing, troubleshooting, and IT support within healthcare settings. Epic Certification: certification in one or more Epic modules (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, Willow, Orders) is highly desirable; for internal candidates, obtaining necessary Epic certifications will be supported. Current Epic Cadence certification and at least one other patient access certification preferred. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. 5-7 years of relevant IIS, clinical experience, or equivalent mix of education and experience. For IIS candidates: experience in systems integration, data management, healthcare IT, and workflow automation; knowledge of system architecture and project management in a healthcare setting. For Clinical candidates: hands-on clinical experience (e.g., nursing, pharmacy, or allied health) with clinical workflow understanding and EHR proficiency. Ability to translate clinical or operational needs into system functionality; strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Experience in healthcare operations, including day-to-day clinical, administrative, or IT functions; ability to support operational improvements through technology.
