A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support an elementary school environment in Irmo, SC. This position offers a contract assignment for the full school year, providing essential communication access to students and staff within a dynamic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate communication by interpreting spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure effective communication and equal access to curriculum and social interactions.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while adapting to various classroom settings and communication needs.
• Assist in real-time translation during meetings, events, and daily school operations to support inclusion.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably within an educational environment.
• Proficient knowledge of ASL and English, with the ability to interpret complex information accurately.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, educators, and families.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced school setting.
• Relevant certifications in Sign Language Interpretation are preferred.

Location: Irmo, SC Serving an elementary school community.
