Demonstrated Experience in Content Development Write, edit, and finalize newsletters, press releases, website content, and board/fundraising reports. Demonstrated Experience in Cross-Departmental Project Leadership Lead communications initiatives like the annual report, event materials, and promotional campaigns. Coordinate production timelines to meet organizational needs. Supervise communication staff, interns, or contractors as needed to execute projects effectively. Demonstrated Experience in Digital Engagement & Platform Management Manage NCCAT’s social media presence, email marketing, and website content. Leverage tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, and Google Analytics. Maintain accessible and up-to-date website content in collaboration with program staff. Demonstrated Experience in Brand Stewardship & Policy Awareness Uphold brand standards and guide staff on consistent messaging. Monitor external factors to inform communication strategies. Minimum Education and Requirements Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience”. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media, journalism, English, or related field from an appropriately accredited institution four years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Valid NC Driver’s License. Out of State Applicants must have a valid Driver’s License or acquire within 60 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with the North Carolina public education system.
