Job Title: CDL Class B Driver

Location : Newington, CT

Pay rate : $22-24/hr

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7 am to 4 pm with potential for Friday's off

Job Summary: A CDL Class B drive r is responsible for safely operating a dump truck and they must adhere to all traffic regulations and company policies while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining vehicle integrity.

Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle Operation: Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses, in compliance with traffic laws and company regulations.

2. Cargo Transportation: Transport goods or materials from one location to another, ensuring that all items are securely loaded and unloaded.

3. Route Navigation: Navigate routes efficiently, using GPS devices or maps to reach destinations on time while minimizing fuel consumption and vehicle wear.

4. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after each trip, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, and tire pressure. Report any defects or malfunctions to maintenance personnel.

5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries. Complete necessary paperwork, such as logbooks, trip reports, and delivery confirmations.

6. Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with deliveries or passenger transport.

7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and other road users.

8. Emergency Response: Respond appropriately to emergencies, such as accidents or vehicle breakdowns, by following established procedures and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.

9. Communication: Maintain communication with dispatchers or supervisors to receive instructions, report delays, or request assistance as needed.

10. Professionalism: Represent the company in a positive manner at all times, displaying professionalism, integrity, and respect while interacting with colleagues, clients, and the public.

Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class B license and DOT medical card
• Clean driving record with no serious violations.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely in various weather and road conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina to perform duties such as lifting, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining vehicle cleanliness and integrity.
• Willingness to undergo drug screenings and background checks as required by the employer.
